Tutorial 21 · External channels: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack and Discord

What the video says

  1. JMAX doesn't live only in its window: it can receive and send messages on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack and Discord. Channels are managed in Connectors, and only the administrator connects them.
  2. WhatsApp is linked as one more device. On the WhatsApp card press Settings. Link status tells you whether it's already connected. Link another WhatsApp generates a QR code: on the phone, WhatsApp, Linked devices, Link a device, and scan.
  3. Telegram, Slack and Discord connect through a bot: on Telegram you create it with BotFather, on Slack at api dot slack dot com. The administrator stores the token in the JMAX configuration, and the telegram, slack and discord tools appear on the native card. Keys are never shown on screen.
  4. Once connected, whatever arrives on a channel is handled and answered on the same channel, and the window shows the full conversation. You can also ask from the chat: send Carlos the summary on WhatsApp, or notify the sales channel on Slack.
  5. For a specific agent to handle a channel, open its profile. Under Receives work via you choose the channel and from whom: a number or a user. Messages arriving there are handled by that agent, and it answers.
  6. Its own number: each agent can have its own messaging line, or use the main JMAX number.
  7. Under Delivers its work via you decide where it sends the result when done: a Telegram group, a Slack channel or a WhatsApp number.
  8. Combine it with Work alone and you'll have an agent that wakes up, does its mission and notifies you on WhatsApp or Slack without anyone asking. Press Save.
